More Figures And a Horsehead

 Long overdue figure work! The scanner didn't like me.

 I was watching a video on YouTube of a Japanese guy dancing around in a horse head, so I paused it and got this pose. Cheers.

Run, Epona, run!

 

So one of my newer gods is Epona, Celtic goddess of horses! She lives with her older brother, Cernunnos, and her little sister, Artionis. Due to her long, gangly legs, she's a bit clumsy. She's also a total tomboy.

Epona is also considered a Gallo-Roman goddess, so I wanted to make sure she had a few throwbacks to them. I read that Gallic men lime-washed their hair and then combed it back to look like a horse's mane. Perfect! As she grows older, she becomes an untamed, wild teenager. On top of bleaching her hair, she'll also get woad tattoos, another nod to her Celtic heritage.

A few female figures this week. I've been playing with watercolors recently, so I gotta get back into the groove of them.

Thesis, Part 1

Here's an influx of characters from my senior thesis. I developed a TV pitch for a cartoon show about a girl who babysits the children of the gods.  Along the way, she'd make new friends, learn about different gods and cultures, and avoid being fried alive. Here's part 1 of the main group of characters from the show.

Quick Little Figure Post

I've been doing some more figure stuff in a sketchbook, but it's hard 'cause the book is a bit small, and I normally work really large! Once I spray-fix 'em, I'll post them, too.

I think this was from sophomore or junior year? Can't remember. I do remember taking this picture with my phone, though, hence the sketchy quality. Tried to fix it in Photoshop.

Here's some warm-up sketches from last semester's figure class. I showed these to Disney in my interview and they actually got a little mad. They asked me, "Why aren't you doing more of this?!" Sorry, guys!
